What are the advantages of document printing with thermal rolls?

Coating on thermal rolls saves toner and ink cartridges. Thermal printers have fewer moving parts than conventional printers and therefore require very little maintenance. At the same time, they are suitable for intensive continuous use at checkouts and points of sale. Thermal printing is one of the fastest and most efficient printing processes.

What is the shelf life of rolls of thermal paper?

If our thermal rolls are handled correctly, we guarantee a service life of 7 to 25 years - depending on the type of paper selected. This warranty applies to the fully developed typeface if thermal printing has already taken place.

After removing the original packaging, you should use our products as soon as possible after appropriate acclimatization - unfortunately, we have no influence on the ambient conditions. Usually, the original properties remain stable for many years. An exception are extreme climatic conditions.

Was ist Thermopapier?

Thermopapier ist ein holzfreies Papier mit einer thermoreaktiven Beschichtung. D.h., daß diese Schicht auf die Einwirkung von Wärme oder Hitze reagiert und sich dabei schwarz verfärbt. Das Schriftbild entsteht also gänzlich ohne Zusatzmittel wie Farbbänder, Toner oder Tinte. Es ist ein chemischer Prozeß, der unter Wärmeeinwirkung im Papier selbst abläuft. Hierfür kommen marktübliche Thermodrucker zum Einsatz, die je nach Anwendung, z.B. Tickets, Parkscheine, Kassenrollen, Lottoscheine, Etiketten u.v.m., unterschiedliche Thermopapierqualitäten benötigen.

Was heißt Thermoschicht innen bzw. Thermoschicht außen?

Das beschichtete Papier wird beim Thermodirektdruck an einem Thermodruckkopf vorbeigeführt. Dieser Druckkopf enthält Elemente, die kurzzeitig erhitzt werden können.

Die meisten Drucker haben Thermorollen mit einer außen liegenden Thermobeschichtung. Es gibt allerdings auch Kassensysteme mit einer innen liegenden Thermoschicht. Dazu gehört zum Beispiel Inka. Als Kunde können Sie von einer außen beschichteten Rolle ausgehen. Thermorollen mit einer Innenbeschichtung sind als solche ausgewiesen.

Wie lange sind Kassenbelege und Thermorollen lesbar?

Die Haltbarkeit von Thermorollen beträgt etwa sieben Jahre, wenn sie ordnungsgemäß gelagert werden. Der Kontakt mit Lösungs- oder Desinfektionsmitteln sowie mit Ölen und Fetten ist zu vermeiden. Diese Stoffe können die Lesbarkeit beeinträchtigen. Eine kühle und lichtgeschützte Lagerung ist optimal.

Wie wird Thermopapier entsorgt?

Zwar bestehen Kassenbons zum größten Teil aus Papier. Dieses ist jedoch nicht zusammen mit Altpapier zu entsorgen. Das Umweltbundesamt empfiehlt die Entsorgung von Thermopapier im Restmüll.

Was kann man gegen ein zu schwaches Druckbild unternehmen?

Häufig wird ein schwaches Druckbild durch eine zu niedrige Temperatur verursacht. Erhöhen Sie die Drucktemperatur, um ein besseres Ergebnis zu erhalten. Ein streifiges Druckbild lässt sich am besten durch eine Reinigung der Druckkopfzelle beseitigen. Im Handbuch des Kassenherstellers oder Druckerherstellers finden Sie hierzu weitere Informationen.
