Mono paper refers to a quality consisting of only one layer. It is usually a specially surface-treated paper for advertising purposes such as high-quality brochures or for thermal transfer printing, which is often used in the logistics sector.
However, mono paper can also be a commercially available, wood-free office paper or a film, such as polypropylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE), if special properties such as tear resistance or water resistance are required.
Incidentally, thermal and wax papers can also be considered mono papers, provided they have not been further processed into laminate or composite goods.
Our mono papers for the advertising and logistics sector are characterized by excellent printability in conventional printing processes such as flexo, offset, inkjet or TTF (thermal transfer printing). They have a special coating and surface treatment, which have a silky-matt or even extra-smooth and glossy character. Silky matte coated papers, which exhibit a semi-gloss and also have a high degree of whiteness, are becoming increasingly popular. The increased contrast due to the bright, white coating combined with the homogeneous surface ensures high-quality products, as they deliver brilliant print results.
But also in logistics, our mono materials offer corresponding quality features that meet the high demands of industrial applications. With the ever-increasing throughput volumes here, impeccable and thus trouble-free readability of the printing, such as barcodes or QR codes, must continue to be guaranteed. Excellent runnability during further processing thus becomes even more important than it already is. This is achieved not least because of the base materials used here with their very special physical properties.
