Cash register rolls for thermal printing - how does it work?
You do not need additional ink or toner for direct thermal printing. The thermal paper has a heat-sensitive coating that turns dark when it comes into contact with a thermal print head. This discoloration results in the printed image on a receipt, settlement slip or EC card slip.
In addition to direct thermal printing, there is also the thermal transfer printing process, in which a ribbon is used as the medium. The third variant, dye sublimation printing, is used for exceptionally long-lasting and high-quality print quality.
Advertising print on front or back
